Write down the essentials
Describe the audience you want to reach, the market, language, topic, preferred platforms and type of content. Add the timing and any confirmed budget. Separate requirements from preferences so your team knows where it can be flexible.
Keep unknowns visible
If the budget, audience details or availability are unconfirmed, say so. Do not fill a gap with a guess. Keep follower counts and video views separate: they describe different things. Note which details the team still needs to check before outreach.
Try a plain-language example
Here is a hypothetical brief: “Find English-speaking home-cooking creators in the UK for a kitchenware campaign. Look for clear recipe demonstrations. Confirm audience location, availability and rates before outreach.” Adapt the wording to your own campaign. It is a starting point for research, not a promise that any creator meets every requirement.
